Piping Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Piping Designer to join our team. The role involves developing detailed piping designs and layouts for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed piping designs and layouts for oil and gas facilities
• Create and update P&IDs, piping isometric drawings, and 3D models
• Ensure piping designs comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulations
• Collaborate with process and mechanical engineers to ensure accurate piping design
• Conduct site visits and field surveys to verify existing conditions
• Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts using 3D modeling tools
• Prepare material take-offs and bills of materials (BOM)
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to optimize layouts
• Maintain piping design documentation in accordance with company standards
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of piping design experience in the Oil & Gas industry
• Proficiency in piping design software (AutoCAD, CADWorx, SmartPlant 3D, PDMS)
• Strong understanding of piping design principles including routing, supports, and basic stress concepts
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API)
• Experience with 3D modeling and clash detection tools
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, PFDs, and P&IDsHigh attention to detail and design accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
