Trailer Truck Driver

Job Description

The Trailer Truck Driver (or TIR driver) is a professional specialist holding a CE-category driving license who transports heavy and large-volume cargo over long distances.

Responsibilities

• Safe driving: Safely operating the truck on highways, in urban areas, and in tight spaces, taking into account the trailer's length and weight.
• Cargo securing: Ensuring cargo is properly secured with straps, chains, or supports so it does not slide or tip over on the road.
• Hitching the trailer: Connecting the tractor unit to the trailer, correctly connecting air hoses and electrical cables.
• Technical check: Checking the brake system, tire pressure, lights, and trailer condition before every trip.
• Documentation: Ensuring international (CMR, TIR Carnet) or domestic waybills, road documents, and customs papers are in order.
• Rest regime compliance: Observing driving and rest times based on the tachograph readings.
• Maneuvering skill: Precisely backing up to an unloading or loading ramp.
• Key requirements: A category "E" (or CE) driving license is mandatory. An ADR (dangerous goods) certificate for international transport.
