Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to lead and enhance safety, health, and environmental management within the oil and gas sector. The role requires extensive industry experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to develop long-term safety strategies aligned with executive-level objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term safety strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Oversee safety compliance across multiple operational units and locations
  • Prepare executive-level safety reports and briefings
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Ensure integration of safety procedures across HR, Legal, Procurement, and other administrative functions
  • Lead safety culture initiatives across business lines
  • Manage deployment of new safety processes and strategies
  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, particularly in the Middle East gas sector
  • Support executive leadership with data-driven safety insights and performance tracking

Requirements

  • Minimum 15–18 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental management within the oil and gas industry
  • Preferred 20+ years of progressive safety leadership experience
  • Extensive experience in gas plants or oil and gas operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science
  • Master’s degree in Safety Management or Risk Management preferred
  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification (Essential)
  • OSHA certification (Essential)
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred
  • International Risk Management or Business Continuity certification preferred
  • Six Sigma or Lean certifications related to safety process improvement preferred
  • Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations
  • Experience in executive communication and high-level reporting
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel (formulas and analysis), and Word reporting
