Job Description

The Welder is a specialist who joins various types of metal by melting them using heat or pressure. It is considered one of the most in-demand and responsible trades in modern construction and industry.

Responsibilities

• Preparation: Cleaning the edges (bevels) of metals, removing rust and grease, and preparing parts for joining according to drawings.
• Selecting the welding mode: Determining current strength (amperage), voltage, and the appropriate electrode/wire type based on the metal's thickness and type.
• Performing the weld: Joining metals securely and leak-tight using various methods (electrode, argon, semi-automatic).
• Quality control: Visually inspecting welds for possible defects (porosity, cracks, burns) and correcting them.
• Equipment maintenance: Monitoring the technical condition of the welding machine, cables, and gas cylinders.
• Safety rules: Complying with fire safety, always using a protective mask, gloves, and special clothing.
• Main welding types: Electrode welding (MMA) — mainly for construction and repair work. Argon welding (TIG) — for stainless steel, duplex, and non-ferrous metals. Semi-automatic (MIG/MAG) — for fast production in factories and workshops.
