Ceiling Installer

Job Description

The Ceiling Installer (or scaffolder) is a specialist who erects temporary metal or wooden structures (scaffolding) to allow comfortable and safe work at height during construction and repair work. This role carries high responsibility as it is directly related to human life and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assembly and disassembly: Erecting metal tubes, frames, and platforms according to the design and dismantling them after work is complete.
• Ground preparation: Levelling the ground and properly placing base plates (or wooden sole boards) so the scaffold does not tip over.
• Anchoring: Securely fastening the structure to the building wall using special anchors or ties.
• Safety elements: Installing guardrails and access ladders to prevent workers from falling.
• Load testing: Checking whether the erected scaffold can support the weight of workers and materials that will be on it (tagging — hanging a "Green Card").
• Working-at-height rules: Correctly using a double-lanyard safety harness (carabiners) during work.
• Debris netting: Installing protective netting so construction materials or tools do not fall onto people below.
