Flooring Installer

Job Description

The Flooring Installer (scaffolder) is a specialist who erects and dismantles temporary metal structures (work platforms) for construction and repair work. This role is directly related to safety at height.

Responsibilities

• Assembly and disassembly: Fixing metal tubes, walkways, ladders, and guardrails together according to the design and dismantling them after work is complete.
• Ground preparation: Levelling the ground and correctly placing base supports so the flooring structure does not tip over.
• Safety inspection: Checking the load capacity of the erected structure, the strength of the bolts, and the stability of the platform.
• Anchoring: Fastening the flooring structure to the building wall with special fixtures so it does not tip sideways.
• Load limit control: Ensuring the weight of materials placed on the platform does not exceed the norm.
• Installing protective netting: Attaching protective netting so construction dust or tools do not fall down.

Requirements

• These workers must have a medical certificate and a special qualification to work at height. They must also have excellent knowledge of the rules for using safety harnesses (with double lanyards).
