Steel Structure Installer

Job Description

The Steel Structure Installer (erector) is a professional specialist who assembles the metal frames, supports, and other metal parts of buildings and structures based on drawings. This work requires both physical strength and technical precision.

Responsibilities

• Working from drawings: Reading project documents and diagrams to determine where and how parts should be fixed.
• Installation: Positioning and securing metal columns, beams, and panels using cranes.
• Joining work: Fastening parts together using bolts and nuts, rivets, or electric welding.
• Working at height: Frequently working at height on the frames of high-rise buildings with the help of cranes.
• Levelling and measuring: Ensuring the structure is perfectly vertical and horizontal (using a laser level or plumb line).
• Preparation work: Cutting, drilling, and preparing metal parts for welding.
• Safety: Minimizing risks at height by using safety harnesses and personal protective equipment.
• These specialists mainly work on the construction of industrial facilities, bridges, warehouses, and large shopping centers.
