Steel Fixer

Job Description

The Steel Fixer is a skilled laborer responsible for preparing, cutting, bending, and installing reinforcement bars for concrete structures within construction projects, in accordance with project drawings. He must carry out his work in compliance with technical standards, quality standards, and occupational safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Execution of reinforcement work:
• Carry out reinforcement work based on project drawings and technical specifications
• Cut and bend reinforcement bars to the required dimensions
• Prepare reinforcement cages for columns, beams, foundations, slabs, and walls
• Ensure reinforcement elements are placed at the correct spacing and position
• Installation and tying work:
• Join reinforcement bars using tying wire or special tools
• Ensure the strength and stability of installed reinforcement
• Check the reinforcement's compliance with the design before concrete pouring
• Measurement and technical control:
• Ensure the accuracy of reinforcement using measuring instruments
• Immediately report cases not complying with technical norms to management
• Monitor that the required concrete cover thickness (protective cover) is maintained
• Quality and documentation:
• Continuously monitor the quality of work performed
• Provide daily or required reports on completed work
• Participate in correcting work that does not comply with quality standards
• Occupational safety and discipline:
• Comply with occupational health, technical safety, and fire safety rules
• Use personal protective equipment (helmet, gloves, protective footwear, etc.)
• Maintain order and cleanliness at the work site
• Use of tools and equipment:
• Properly and safely use reinforcement cutting and bending equipment
• Check and maintain the technical condition of hand tools
• Report malfunctions to the responsible person

Requirements

• Secondary or vocational education (construction or reinforcement work preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a steel fixer
• Knowledge and skills:
• Ability to read construction drawings
• Knowledge of reinforcement standards and technical norms
• Physical endurance and precision
• Azerbaijani language – basic level
• Knowledge of Russian is an advantage
• Being responsible and disciplined
• Ability to work in a team
• Strict approach to safety rules
• The Steel Fixer is responsible for the safe and high-quality execution of assigned reinforcement work in accordance with project requirements.
