Senior Project Engineer

Job Description

The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and implementation of projects within the Oil & Gas sector. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex engineering projects. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, promoting safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Conduct performance reviews and support professional development of team members
• Organize and direct all engineering activities within the project organization
• Support the Project Manager in resolving engineering issues and defining technical solutions
• Coordinate engineering activities with contractors and subcontractors
• Establish and maintain engineering design procedures
• Organize and conduct 3D Model Reviews with clients at 30%, 60%, 90%, 100%, and close-out stages
• Participate in weekly project meetings with contractors
• Review and approve engineering documents including drawings, specifications, and requisitions
• Manage engineering document control and ensure proper filing, distribution, and accessibility
• Ensure latest engineering documents are available to office and site personnel
• Ensure complete and accurate engineering records are maintained for project close-out
• Authorize technical requisitions for materials and subcontracting
• Report engineering-related changes and supplemental work to the Control Group
• Prepare change proposal descriptions related to engineering scope
• Ensure engineering activities comply with quality assurance plans
• Review and address non-conformance and concession reports
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management
• Facilitate coordination between engineering and other departments

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of Oil & Gas engineering experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience in Concept, FEED, Detail Design, and EPC projects
• Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas engineering principles, standards, and technologies
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, HYSYS, SPED, SPI)
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (API, ASME, OSHA)
• Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex projects
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with focus on safety and efficiency
• Master’s degree or PE license is preferred
• PMP or other project management certification is a plus
• Experience with offshore and onshore projects is desirable
• Familiarity with industrial environmental and safety regulations
