Job Description

The Basket Operator (aerial lift operator) is a specialist who operates a vehicle equipped with a special hydraulic lifting mechanism and ensures the safe operation of workers inside the basket at height.

Responsibilities

• Equipment operation: Safely driving the aerial lift to the work area and positioning it correctly.
• Stabilizing: Before starting work, deploying the outriggers so the equipment is fully balanced and stable.
• Basket lifting: Raising and lowering workers or materials in the basket smoothly, without jolting, to the required height.
• Safety monitoring: Ensuring that persons in the basket use safety harnesses and that the basket's load limit is not exceeded.
• Environmental risk: Correctly calculating clearance during work to avoid contact with power lines, trees, or other obstacles.
• Daily inspection: Checking the hydraulic system for leaks, oil level, and the condition of control buttons every day.
• Emergency situations: Using the manual emergency-down system to bring workers to safety in the event of an accident or malfunction.
• Key requirements: A special license (machine operator or lift operator certificate) is required to operate this equipment. Stopping work during strong winds is the operator's direct responsibility.
