Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and execution of civil engineering works within the Oil & Gas sector. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that infrastructure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil engineering designs including site layouts, grading, drainage, and foundation systems
• Perform structural analysis and design using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000)
• Prepare technical specifications, design calculations, and construction drawings
• Prepare material requisitions, perform technical bid evaluations, and review vendor drawings
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines
• Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
• Monitor project progress and report to the Engineering Manager and project team
• Conduct site assessments and surveys to support design and construction
• Oversee site preparation activities including excavation, grading, and soil stabilization
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and site development best practices
• Provide technical support during construction, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site inspections
• Troubleshoot and resolve civil engineering–related construction issues
• Perform quality control inspections to ensure compliance with design and standards
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations (ASCE, ACI, API)
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments
• Prepare and support permit applications and regulatory documentation
• Maintain accurate and complete engineering documentation and reports

Requirements

• 5–10 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector
• Proficiency in civil and structural design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000)
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, API)
• Experience in material requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor document review
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
• Experience with onshore and offshore projects is a plus
• Familiarity with geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics is advantageous
• Knowledge of construction practices and materials
