Project Engineer

Job Description

The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects within the Oil & Gas sector. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with required quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans including scope, schedule, and budget
• Coordinate multiple engineering disciplines to meet project requirements
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to support smooth project execution
• Organize and direct engineering activities within the project organization
• Support the Project Manager in resolving engineering issues and defining solutions
• Coordinate engineering matters with contractors and subcontractors
• Establish and implement engineering design procedures
• Organize and conduct 3D Model Reviews with clients at 30%, 60%, 90%, 100%, and close-out stages
• Participate in weekly project meetings with contractors
• Review and approve engineering documents (drawings, specifications, requisitions)
• Manage engineering document control, distribution, and accessibility
• Ensure latest engineering documents are available to office and site personnel
• Maintain complete engineering records for project close-out
• Authorize technical requisitions for materials and subcontracting
• Report engineering-related changes and prepare change proposals
• Ensure engineering activities comply with quality assurance plans
• Review non-conformance and concession reports
• Monitor project progress and performance against approved plans
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues
• Conduct site visits to oversee construction and installation activities
• Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare status reports
• Promote HSE compliance and conduct safety audits and inspections

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of project engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry
• Proven experience in Concept, FEED, Detail Design, and EPC projects
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and industry standards
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, MS Excel)
• Experience with engineering and design tools (SPID, SPI, SP3D, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
• Experience with offshore and onshore projects is a plus
• Familiarity with regulatory and environmental standards
