Law & Contract Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal and Contract Engineer to join our team. The Legal and Contract Engineer will be responsible for managing all legal and contractual aspects of our projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Oil & Gas industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate EPC, service, supply, joint venture, and other project-related contracts
• Ensure contracts are clear, enforceable, and accurately reflect agreed terms
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting contracts and operations
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and contractual risks
• Manage and resolve contractual disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation
• Coordinate with external legal counsel on complex legal matters
• Oversee contract administration, execution, storage, and performance monitoring
• Provide legal advice and support to project and management teams
• Conduct legal research on Oil & Gas–related legal issues
• Develop and deliver training on legal and contractual matters
• Maintain and update standard contract templates and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in legal and contract management (Oil & Gas preferred)
• Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and regulatory environment
• Proven experience negotiating and managing complex contracts
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• APMP or similar professional certification is a plus
• Experience with international and cross-border contracts is highly desirable
