Head of Department (Technical Director)

Job Description

General management of the technical department's activities and regulation of the work process; Tracking production across the 4 HPPs under responsibility, conducting water flow-production (discharge-generation) analyses; Ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient operation of water turbines, generators, and all related electromechanical/electrical equipment at hydroelectric power plants; Preparing timely preventive inspections, diagnostics, periodic maintenance, and annual shutdown plans for equipment, and supervising their execution; Managing prompt intervention in case of technical malfunctions and accidents; Organizing the planning of spare parts, as well as coordinating and managing the field team consisting of operators and technicians; Establishing necessary business communication with the energy network in Azerbaijan, relevant state/energy authorities, and local executive power bodies; Ensuring unconditional compliance with occupational safety, health (HSE), and safe working rules at high-voltage facilities; Preparing and submitting regular reports to management on completed works, technical condition of equipment, and energy production performance.

Requirements

• Education: Higher engineering education (Preferably in Electrical, Electrical-Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering);
• Work Experience: At least 5 years, preferably over 8 years of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of small HPPs, power plants, or high-voltage facilities (at least 3 years in managerial positions);
• Technical Knowledge: Perfect field/practical knowledge of turbines, generators, governors, excitation systems, transformers, MV/HV switchgear systems, relay protection, SCADA, regulators, penstocks (pressure water pipes), and auxiliary facilities;
• Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in Azerbaijani, Turkish, and English to communicate smoothly with relevant local authorities and the team;
• Personal Qualities: A profile capable of working in mountainous areas and difficult terrain, mastering work safety rules, practical, capable of taking responsibility, and possessing leadership skills;
• Other: Ability to work in the Karabakh and East Zangazur region (on a business trip or permanent basis).
