Lead Operator (Small Hydropower Plant)

Job Description

Exercise operational control during shift work schedules at Small Hydropower Plants (SHPPs) and lead the shift team's activities. Ensure the safe, efficient, and schedule-compliant operation of water turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems. Regularly monitor turbine operation parameters (water flow, pressure, temperature, vibration, rotational speed, etc.) and adjust for optimal operating conditions. Control water management systems, managing water levels and incoming water flow operatively in accordance with the technical requirements of the turbines. Identify equipment deviations, hydraulic, or mechanical malfunctions at an early stage, prevent accidents, and immediately report to management. Compile operational logs and reports regarding the station's operating mode, the volume of electricity generated, and events that occurred during the shift.

Requirements

• Higher or secondary specialized education in Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Process Automation Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience as an operator / chief operator in Hydro Power Plants (HPPs) or water turbine management systems.
• Perfect knowledge of the operating principles of water turbines (hydroturbines), hydrotechnical structures, and control panels.
• Ability to demonstrate composure in crisis and emergency situations, and make quick, correct operational decisions.
• Ability to lead a team, high responsibility, and availability to work in the Karabakh region on a shift (24-hour) work schedule.
